The Boys and Girls Club of Goose Bay in Wasilla Alaska will be able to keep their doors open for the 2007/2008 school year thanks to ColorTyme of Alaska.
The Goose Bay Club’s 2007/2008 budget was $7,000 short and the club was in danger of closing its doors. ColorTyme of Alaska VP of Financial Service Operations, Megan Kirkingburg (shown in photo with kids from the Goose Bay Club) found out about the shortage and approached Alaska franchisee Mark Childers about making a donation to keep the Club open.
“Thanks to Megan, ColorTyme is not only an active member of the business community and Chamber of Commerce, but also in helping the families and especially the children in the towns we serve,” said Childers. “Alaska has been good to ColorTyme and our employee-family, and we are grateful. The least we can do is contribute to such worthy causes as the Boy’s and Girl’s Club.”

By the end of 2005, Childers was open for business in Anchorage and already planning more stores. ColorTyme of Alaska now operates stores in Wasilla, Fairbanks and Anchorage, and will soon open a second location in Anchorage.
